South Asia Pro poor Livestock policy programme (SAPPLPP) A joint initiative of NDDB and FAO, New Delhi took cognigence of company in rural development programme. Team of experts of SAPPLPP toured extensively in Buldhana, Sinnar, area of Maharashtra and met number of small scale poultry farmers rearing Satpuda birds.
Technical consultants of the company Dr. A.G. Khan and Dr Ravi Patil were invited for learning event organized in 2008 at TERI, New Delhi wherein Good Practice Note draft was prepared. SAPPLPP recognized Satpuda Desi rearing as a “Good Practice” for Rural Livelihood programmes and published good practice booklet titles-“The Satpuda- Replicas of native chicken in Rural Poultry production which is available on their website www.sapplpp.org (Good Practice note code SAGP-10)
Trials of bird performance and benefit ratio were conducted by Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihood programme scheme in Dhar district of M.P. Beneficiaries got more income by rearing Satpuda desi bird as compared to “Giriraja” and “Kadaknath” with this encouraging results “MPRLP” scheme implementing agencies from Dhar, Baug, Tirla, Badwani, Umarband, Jhabua supplied 24300 chicks in 2009-2010. Bird is sturdy and tribals can rear and get good returns in these totally tribal blocks. 
"BAIF” reputed NGO supplied 12500 Satpuda Birds in Shahada, Sakri, Javhar, Dhule tribal blocks and activity of Satpuda Desi rearing is replicating in tribal blocks.
